Our Care Groups have also been studying Isaiah and in a recent study, they spent some time looking at how Isaiah 63:7-64:12 records for us Isaiah’s prayer of faith, as the prophet intercedes with God on behalf of the people.

We will host our very first Weekender on the 5-8 of September 2024. Joshua has been helping with the coordination and planning of this Weekender, and he shares ways that the church can participate in prayer and by offering practical help.

On 10 August 2024, we had a Thanksgiving Prayer Service to mark 65 years of God’s faithfulness and provision to us as a church.

In the final hours of 2023, we gathered as a church at our annual Watchnight Service. Though it was a Sunday evening and we also had our regular Sunday gathering that morning, many came back to spent time together on the last day of the year.

We invite all to join us for our Watchnight Service on 31 December, from 8–10pm in the Sanctuary. This will take the place of our usual monthly Prayer Meeting after service.

Deacon Bryan Tan led us in a exemplary prayer of confession in our worship service on 22 Oct. He modelled it on Jesus' teachings about the Beautitudes from Matthew 5:3-10.

In a week's time, we'll be electing the ninth president for Singapore. Elder Caleb shares five ways we can pray for the upcoming election. 

At our 28 May 2023 service, Pastor Mark Collins gave an update to the church regarding his recent visit abroad and shared ways we could keep him and his family in prayer.

One cool Thursday evening in February, a group from GBC and Redemption Hill Church (RHC) went around our neighbourhood for a prayer walk. It was the first walk that was organised for 2023 and it was encouraging that we could partner with RHC.

At our prayer meeting in the month of April, Chester from the Missions Committee shared with the church about the Bangladeshi in Singapore and their needs.

During last weekend's services, the elders reaffirmed their vows to serve God's flock and the congregation also committed to support and work together with them for the good of the gospel.

At the monthly CLOBS sessions, our care group leaders (CGLs)not only spend time preparing for the CG studies, but also learn about various topics that help equip them to lead. At a recent CLOBS session, the CGLs looked at how our prayers together can be shaped by the Bible.

Despite the ongoing pandemic, the current restrictions allowed us to hold our annual Watchnight service in 2021. It was held both in-person and livestreamed, and many GBC worshippers gathered together in the sanctuary or in homes to reflect on the past year.

In this series, we will be understanding prayer using the A.C.T.S model, which is derived from the Lord's Prayer. The model has the following elements: adoration, confession, thanksgiving and supplication. Over the next month, we will be looking at prayers in the Bible and how they teach us to pray.

We have been praying for our missionaries at our monthly prayer meetings, but sometimes we may struggle with praying for them. It could seem hard to persevere in prayer for people and needs that seem so distant from us. We may also feel like our requests are repetitive.
