Jocelyn shares how God uses one of the books read during the traineeship to reveal to her what it means to be human.

Elder Caleb has been serving as an elder for the past 5 years. Here, he shares with us what he does as an elder and how he has seen God at work in this church.

On 26 October 2024, over 140 GBC members came together to be a part of the choir, musicians and AV team for the fifth and final Reformation Concert: Soli Deo Gloria, which is Latin for “Glory to God Alone”. Our sanctuary was packed to the brim, as many came to sing of this glorious God, and also to hear of who He is. 

From April to September, this Art Fellowship Outreach took place on Thursday afternoons. Two 8-week series were conducted, and Yuh Jane, who organised and participated, shares with us about what they did, and how it also encouraged members to love each other, and reach out to non-believers.

Anna, who is also known to many of us as “Mimi”, is one of our trainees and she shares what she has learnt about discipleship through this traineeship. She reflects on 1 Timothy 1, a passage that the trainees studied together.

Our Children’s Ministry team organised a parenting panel on 6 October 2024 to help encourage and build up the many parents in our midst. Rachael, one of our young parents, attended this session, and shares with us some of her reflections.

Our Care Groups have also been studying Isaiah and in a recent study, they spent some time looking at how Isaiah 63:7-64:12 records for us Isaiah’s prayer of faith, as the prophet intercedes with God on behalf of the people.

The great composer, Johann Sebastian Bach, is often celebrated as a prolific composer of the Baroque period. As we prepare for the upcoming Reformation Concert, Elder Caleb shares with us about Bach’s life and faith, and how we too, can be encouraged to live for God’s glory alone.

GBC will hold our fifth (and final) Reformation Concert this year! The concert will be held on on 26 October 2024 at 8pm in our Sanctuary.

This is the third session at the Youth Day Camp held in June 2024. Nicholas helped our youths understand how to read the Bible themselves.

From 11–13 September, Singapore hosted the visit of Pope Francis. How should we think about it as Christians? Caleb prompts us to consider how our faith can be lived out practically.

At the recent Youth Day Camp, Nicholas took the youths through the Bible’s story. God has revealed Himself to us through His Word. When we read it, we understand who He is, and our place in it.

God has made us all in His image. Yet in this fallen world, all aspects of our humanity has been affected by sin. This includes memory loss and changes to our minds as we age. As Christians, what hope does the gospel give us? How can we help others in our community and our family?

This was a devotional based on Psalm 90 written for our Young Adults’ Retreat. This psalm speaks of God’s sovereignty, and calls us to live in light of this reality. We share it here for our encouragement and meditation.
