Youth Camp 2021
Joshua shares with us about the upcoming youth camp from 17–19 Dec 2021. You can find more about the sign-up details at the end of the article!
Youth Camp is coming!!
That’s right! Even during this COVID season, we will still be having our youth camp in person. Praise the Lord!
Last semester (July to November) our youths have been studying the books of Genesis and Exodus. We have been focusing on who God is and how we can relate to Him. For youth camp, we will be continuing to learn about God from the Old Testament by studying the book of Ruth. The book of Ruth is such an amazing book about a foreigner, a redeemer and a good God who redeems foreigners like us.
By studying the book of Ruth, we hope that the youth will continue to see how sovereign and faithful our God is. With a deeper understanding of God in the Old Testament, we want to help our youths have a greater appreciation of how God has never changed and how Jesus Christ and the Gospel has always been the perfect plan.
During the camp, it will be a good time together playing games, listening to talks, engaging in group discussions, spending time with God and reading devotions prepared by our church members. There would also be plenty of time to just chill out and enjoy each other’s company.
It has been a year full of Zoom and home-based learning, so I’m sure finally spending time out of our homes socialising with other youths would be something to look forward to.
If you or your CG would like to help out in catering meals for us, please reach out to any of the youth leaders. Otherwise if cooking is not your specialty but you would like to help out in some other way, do let us know as well. Any small way of demonstrating love and concern to our youths will be welcome (even just hanging out for an hour or two!).
Most of all, your prayers are always appreciated. If you could pray for:
the speakers (Bryan, Chuan Xin, Keng Teck and Nick) to be clear in their messages and that the youths will be receptive to God’s word.
the youth leaders (myself included) that we too will be encouraged by the camp and that God will continue to strengthen us as we seek to minister to the youth.
the whole COVID situation so that it won’t impede the camp too much.
