Thanksgiving for our Director

At our 7 April 2024 service, we acknowledged the service of our director, Chong Kang Wei after his term of service. At GBC, we have a Board of Directors that help oversee our governance, budget and finance matters, among other things.

During the service, Pastor Mark took the opportunity to thank him for his faithful service. On behalf of the church, we are thankful for the ways that Kang Wei has sacrificed time and energy to lead us in this way.

Kang Wei shared that it has been a privilege to serve in this way. It has been a “front row seat to see how God works in our midst”. and his heart has been blessed.

He is also thankful for the chance to work with and share life with the elders and fellow directors. His heart is full from the many meals and conversations that he has had with these men.

He requests prayer that he will be able to rest after he steps down and also seeks to serve the church in other ways.

As Pastor Mark shared, the work of a director can seem to be a thankless job as so much happens behind the scenes, but we are thankful for all that Kang Wei and the directors have been doing.

Church, let us continue to keep Kang Wei and his family in prayer, that it will be a time of rest for him. Let us pray that he will be strengthened and encouraged as he continues to love and serve the church in other ways as a member.
